The village of Sveti (Saint) Vlas has recently grown into an attractive place for rest. It is located in the outskirts of the Balkan Mountains, on the Black Sea coast. Sveti Vlas is the place where the sea air meets the mountain one, thus forming a unique air current which cleans the atmosphere and has a profound curative effect. The local climate is strongly recommended for asthmatic conditions. The village itself occupies the northern part of a small bay, at the centre of which stretches the world famous resort of Sunny Beach, and further on south is the ancient museum town of Nessebar. Vlas is only 5 km away from Sunny Beach and 10 km to Nessebar. To the north of Vlas, 4 km. away, is another lovely resort - the holiday village of Elenite. Bourgas International Airport is 35 km. away, and Varna Airport is 100 km. to the north. The village of Vlas is quite small, with 2 500 residents, and boasts new houses, private pensions and hotels. The numerous and cosy restaurants and informal eating places offer delicious dishes of the local and European cuisine.
