Bulgaria
Bulgaria is situated in south east Europe and occupies the eastern part of the Balkan Peninsula. Area: 111.000 sq km. The Hellenes built the beautiful coastal towns of Apollonia, Anhialo and Messambria, and Romans - ancient Aescus, Nikopolis ad Istrum and Nove. Huns, Gothes and Averas later passed through our lands. Around the mid-7th century the Slavs came from the north across the Danube and reached as far as the Black Sea and the Adriatic.

Pomorie

The town is situated on a 4km long peninsula in the Black Sea, 20km North along the shore form Bourgas and 18 km from Sunny Beach resort. In Pomorie the sea shore is low and sandy oriented North-South. The shore length is 4,2 km. with overall surface of 18,7 sq. km. When you are in Pomorie the term "far away from the beach" doesn't apply. The waters around the Pomorie peninsula are shallow with few reefs making them ideal for swimming.

After its re-discovery in 1905 the mudcure establishment was built: Pomorie has won recognition as a national sea mud-medicial resort. Mud cure is complicated and many-sided.

POMORIE TOWN – ANHIALO is the trakian village which is colonizes from Greeks. Colonies of the capital Mesembria have been found here in 5thy century before new era. The town is been named Anhilo, the same time is been develop the colony Apolonia (today’s Sozopol). Gradually the town relations with Mesemria become deteriorate, because the population of Mesembria it was from Dorian provenance and the town is been with ionic population. The fishing, the mining and the trade with sea salt was the main occupation. The shallow and cramped sea bay is offering perfect conditions for that – the first colonist discovered in the sands salt-cellar. The ancient town is situated inside of the territory, named Paleokastro, where you can see everywhere the scattered remains. During the Roman’s dominations thru the mane of the town is been supplement the name Ulpia, which has been more popular than Apolony.

In 1906 the town burst into flame and was almost destroyed. It been famous center of salt extraction; fruits and vegetables; traditional for that was the production of vine and tin. Today the tourism is the main occupation; there exist a mud-curing. The Mud Lake is found in 3rd-4th century before new era and subsequently is named by the Byzantium writer Anna Komina ” The sacred lake”. The first mud-curing center is been build up in 1902, after is been proved in Europe the curative characteristics of the mud.

The climate is famous with lots of sun - around 2360 hours per year. The average temperature on the water and air is 23, 6°Ñ in July. The Atmosphere pressure is 75 mm HG. The mornings are wealthy with disseverance from seaweed anions and iodine. Because of the slowly cooling of the seawater the autumn is worm. The average temperature thru the autumn is 20, 5°Ñ. The snowfall thru the winter is low and the snow cover is not resisting more than 5-7 days. The average temperature thru the spring is 14°Ñ.

The Pomorie Resort, is unique with its nature, making it attractive place for relaxation and treatment with the spa and mud, which have been traditional cure for centuries.
