Around 150 -175 million leva are invested in SPA and Wellness tourism in Bulgaria for the last 3 years, announced experts, who took part in conference leaded in Plovdiv, announce Investor.bg. 70 four and five stars hotels were built, mostly in areas with mineral springs, also on the Black sea coast.The SPA and Wellness tourism is the most perspective alternative for all year round occupation of the hotels, prognosticate Stanimir Stankov, president of the managing committee of the National Association for SPA and Wellness tourism. Around 128 thousand tourists are visiting SPA and Wellness hotels in Bulgaria annually. 85% of them are Bulgarians and the other 15% - Russian speaking tourists. Bulgarian business is in position to quickly receive funding from the EU funds, should they join development projects in Italy, said Fausto Fadgioli, councilor in the EU committee of SPA and Wellness tourism. He introduced to the Bulgarian businessmen the Italian thermal center Emilia Romana, which is visited from more than 460 thousand tourists annually.
