Building works in the winter resort of Bansko have been suspended as of 1 December until 1 April, the mayor Alexander Kravor announced today. The measure in put in place for a fourth year running, but this time our ambitions is to do everything possible for it to be complied with, he added.

At present the municipality has suspended the issuing of building permissions and only approves project with documentation submitted one or two years ago. He said : We will start issuing permissions again only after all areas have their town-planning in place.
Bansko is ready to accommodate 15 000 tourists this year. 10 new hotels and vacation villages will open doors for visitors. Two ski-runs have been renovated and artificial snow equipment has been put in place around them. A new four-chair lifts will start operating this season. The cumulative length of all ski-runs is 70 km, 5 km longer than last season. |
