Inflation in Bulgaria reaches 0.5 per cent in february 2007

Inflation in February 2007 reached 0.5 per cent as compared to the figures for January 2007, National Statistical Institute (NSI) data showed. The overall inflation since the beginning of 2007 reached 1.9 per cent, Bulgarian news agency BTA said. Food prices increased by 0.6 per cent in February 2007. The price of rice increased the most, by 6.4 per cent, while poultry became seven per cent less expensive. Non-food goods were by 0.1 per cent less expensive in February 2007 than in January 2007. Water provision, medicines and dental services became 1.9 per cent more expensive in February 2007. Shoes, gas and TV sets were offered for sale at lower prices in February 2007, NSI data said. Prices of services increased by 0.8 per cent as compared to January 2007.
