A new terminal at the airport of Plovdiv opened
Minister Petar Mutafchiev will open a new passenger terminal at the airport of Plovdiv, announced by the Press Ministry of Transport.
The terminal has been built in a record short time. Now the airport has a facility meeting all modern requirements for safety and security, and modern architecture.
The new building is with built-up area 5000 square meters and a total area 8000 sq. m, which allows servicing of 1000 passengers in peak hours. According to the project of the passenger terminal there are areas provided to serve passengerts from the Schengen zone.
Plovdiv airport is designated as a backup at Sofia Airport. It accepts traffic of Sofia’s, where there is reduced visibility, or other exceptional circumstances. In winter the airport serves daily tourist charter flights to the Bulgarian ski resorts Bansko, Pamporovo and Borovets. |
