Buy property in Bulgaria in winter months
When the Bulgarian Summer holiday season has ended for another year, the weather is cooling, and thoughts are turning towards Christmas it may seem a strange time to think about buying a holiday home in Bulgaria. Flights are scarce and generally more expensive in the winter months, particularly to Varna and Bourgas the traditional airports for the Black Sea Resorts. Package holidays are almost non-existent...
Why then should I the potential buyer think about buying a property now? The answer is simple - Supply and Demand
During the summer months thousands of tourists' flock to Bulgaria, in increasing numbers each year. Some of these tourists will be hoping to snap up a holiday home in the Bulgarian sun. Others will have booked a viewing trip with Bulgarian real estate agencies specifically for the purpose of buying a property or land. With a large number of foreign tourists looking to buy in Bulgaria the demand pushes up prices for properties and can lead to bidding wars or buyers missing out on their dream buy because someone else beats them to it.
Making the extra effort to get to Bulgaria in the winter months when fewer buyers are chasing the available properties means that you have a greater chance of making a successful purchase. You may well pick up the property for a lower price than a comparable property would cost in the summer. There is also the added bonus that you can stay in your own house/villa etc when you return in the summer. |
