GDP in Bulgaria reaches 13.726 billion euro in the fourth quarter of 2006

Bulgarian GDP in the fourth quarter of 2006 reached 13.726 billion euro, National Statistical Institute (NSI) said. The gross value added consisting of national economy branches increased 5.2 per cent compared to figures for the same period of 2005. The share of industrial production within the economic structure increased to 29.6 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2006 compared to 27.3 for the same period of 2005, Focus news agency reported. Services reached 63.7 but a decrease of 1.2 per cent compared to 2005 figures was registered. Agriculture’s share is still small. It reached 6.7 per cent in 2006. The expenditures on individual consumption of the population for the fourth quarter of 2006 totaled 79.1 per cent of the GDP, which is a 3.4 per cent decrease compared to 2005 data. The foreign trade balance of goods and services is negative. The import of goods and services exceeds by 3.826 billion leva the value of the export. The circulation of goods for the period went up by 11 per cent. The export of goods and services increased by 5.4 per cent while the increase of import for the fourth quarter of 2006 is 14 per cent.
